His greatest success came with "Fats Waller & his Rhythm". Thomas Wright Waller was the youngest of four children, born in New York to Adeline Locket Waller and Reverend Edward Martin Waller.

4. AllMusic Review by Scott Yanow This CD contains most of pianist/vocalist Fats Waller's final recordings, V-Discs cut for servicemen overseas. These solo performances are priceless for Waller is often hilarious (his reworking of "Two Sleepy People" is classic) yet still playing at his prime; "Hallelujah" has a particularly heated stride solo.
